A Welsh Winter Slate Trail Adventure

I’ve always been one for a winter adventure from long distance walking along the Camino, cycling the length of Vietnam and trekking the Rwenzori mountains in Uganda to name a few. Wales is my home and I love the mountains and countryside here. This year it was time to turn my winter adventure on its head, stay in Wales and explore my homeland a little more.

Over the next few weeks some of our staff will be walking the Snowdonia Slate Trail - an 83 mile trail around the slate industry areas of Snowdonia! Today was the first leg and the group walked the 10k from Penrhyn Port in Bangor to Bethesda!

Brian Ruddin..The first to walk the Trail
That's ST all packed for the start of the Snowdonia Slate Trail tomorrow. Weather isn't looking great for the week so expect some mishaps. My train leaves Prestatyn at 06:47 and arrives in Bangor at 07:25 and I've got a 1.5 mile walk to the start point, I'm aiming to start walking on the trail about 8. ST has weighed in at 18kg that is 40lb in old money.
There's a cocktail making event on the camp tonight so I could be starting the walk a little bit delicate. Until tomorrow night take care and stay safe.
